Launch of the Visual AI Literacy Toolkit

Launch of the Visual AI Literacy Toolkit
June 25 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
We’re excited to launch our new web-based resource designed to help learners stay ahead of the AI misinformation curve. The Visual AI Literacy Toolkit introduces the fundamentals of visual generative AI and explores how AI-generated images are shaping public understanding — from fake protest scenes and deep-faked politicians to AI beauty filters and images spreading misinformation around war, conflict, and trauma.
Designed for learners of all backgrounds, this comprehensive toolkit offers interactive modules and real-world case studies. Users will:
- Learn to identify and interpret AI-generated visuals
- Understand the social and political impacts of visual misinformation
- Explore how creative activism and marginalised voices are using AI as a tool for resistance
- Test their visual AI literacy with guided exercises
- Reflect on their own experiences with AI-generated media
Whether you’re new to this space or looking to deepen your understanding, the toolkit equips users with practical, critical, and creative skills to navigate the fast-changing visual AI landscape.
The Toolkit will go live on June 25th. This is a remote event and the link will be shared on the day with the registered attendees.
